Lose your attitude!

I am thankful I have a job in this tough economy, and everyone else should too. Employment is so high everywhere you go these days and yet some people that deal directly with the consumers are still giving bad attitudes toward them. I know lots of people that have gotten laid off from a high paying job and would be happy with a minimum wage job, even working at the mall for the holiday season. And yet when I go to a restaurant for lunch/dinner, mall shopping, or even to ship somthing, I catch attitude. Now granted I know everyone has a bad day, and you can tell when that is happening. But when I get my order taken badly cause they person behind the counter is bitching to the other worker about how bad their job sucks, given wrong change, or even given an attitude when I ask for something in a different color or size, that has nothing to do with a bad day.

So Mr./Mrs. CSR shape up or ship out, because I know millions of people out there that would be happy to take your job, and do it everyday with a smile on their face.

 





Why Green Eggs And Ham Is The Best Sales Guide Book You Could Ever Have!

I am sure all of us have read Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss. Whether we read it as a child or read it to our children, it has come across our eyes. But have you ever thought about using it as a sales reference? A friend of mine brought it to my attention one day when we were discussing sales tactics at work. I asked him why he carried it with him and his simple response was “To make me a better sales person.” I had never looked at it in that context before. If you break it down to its simpliest form, Sam-I-Am is a sales person trying to get green eggs and ham sold, and he never gave up. He presented it in every light possible, to a stubborn guy, who seemed like he couldn’t be sold. But that is where the beauty lies, the challenge to over come. He was not rude just a little over bearing, but he knew what his goal was, to get that dish sold! So next time you come across a person that is in front of you or on the phone, no doesn’t always mean no. Maybe they haven’t gotten all the info they need or they haven’t actually tasted what you are selling, so give them all the info possible, because it breaks down to the 3 p’s; Person, Product, or Price.
